Lost Treasure, created in 2013 by John Robert Beck, is a heartfelt architectural portrait of Bruce Goff’s famed Bavinger House, designed for the Bavinger family. First conceived in 1950 and completed in 1955, the home became a celebrated example of organic architecture, admired for its spiraling form, central mast, and bold, unconventional vision. This artwork reflects both its beauty and its absence. The title, Lost Treasure, was chosen because this extraordinary piece of architecture was lost in 2011, most likely as a result of destructive storms that struck Oklahoma during the summer. This image stands as a remembrance of a truly irreplaceable design.
