Your purchase will get you brief instructions and a detailed blue print of the modification to be made to your original Woodland Mills Quick Lock Log Clamp so that you can quickly, and without tools, remove your log clamp bar. This can be needed for clearance when rolling a very crooked log onto the sawmill or if the log has a large knot that lines up with the clamp. The other way this is helpful, and the reason I came up with this design, was to be able to quickly remove the clamp bar and place it in another spot where I actually needed it. Sometimes a log shape dictates where is best to clamp it and that might not be in the 2 spots you have your clamps installed. I made extra brackets myself so that I can place a clamp in every single spot between the bunks, only limited by the amount of clamps I have. I have 2 extensions on my mill, so I have a total of 4 clamps. Most singular logs only require two to hold them in place, but I often mill short logs and its more efficient for me to slap 3 or 4 on at once, and them mill them.

To modify your existing clamps, the materials needed are only some simple hardware and a few pieces of common schedule 40 pipe. If you want to build more clamps mounts to fill all spaces on your mill, you will need to fabricate the brackets dimensioned in the blue print.
