Getting sent free products? GOV.UK says income from creating online content includes gifts and services you receive from promoting products online, and that you use the value of what it would have cost if you had to pay for them. This tracker keeps your cash AND your gifted items together, so you can see where you stand.

What it does

• Income Log: brand deals and sponsored content, ad revenue, affiliate commission, tips, gifts of money and memberships.

• Gifted Items register: date, brand, item, whether you got it for promoting it online, what it would have cost you to buy, how you worked out the value, and what happened to it (kept, given away, sold, sent back).

• £1,000 trading allowance check: cash income + gifts counted + any OTHER side hustles (selling, services), because GOV.UK says to add all your trading income together. A clear status tells you if you're over £1,000.

• Allowance or costs: log your content costs (equipment, apps, props) and see which gives the lower profit. You can only use one.

• Month-by-month table and chart for the tax year (6 April to 5 April).

• Rates & Sources sheet with the GOV.UK wording and links (checked 28 October 2026).

What's included

• Creator-Gifted-Items-Tracker.xlsx: the blank tracker.

• Creator-Gifted-Items-Tracker-EXAMPLE.xlsx: the same file with clearly labelled made-up rows.

• A Google Sheets guide.

Good to know

• Not tax advice. It's a record-keeping tracker: it doesn't calculate tax or file anything.

• Checked for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 tax years (rules checked on GOV.UK on 28 October 2026).

• You can't always use the trading allowance; check GOV.UK.

• It counts gifts you mark "Yes" or "Not sure"; personal gifts from friends and family can be listed but aren't added, and items you mark as "Sent back" aren't counted. If you're unsure about an item, check GOV.UK or ask an adviser.

• Plain formulas only: no macros, no add-ons, no subscription.

• Refunds and cancellations: https://payhip.com/BootstrapSheets/refunds-and-cancellations (your statutory rights aren't affected).

• From Bootstrap Sheets: plain, UK-focused spreadsheets for side hustles and small budgets.
