Bird of Paradise Digital Watercolor Print

Have you ever seen a floral arrangement containing Bird of Paradise flowers in full bloom? They are breathtaking. 

This piece captures a Bird of Paradise flower just before it blooms, its form still enclosed in sculptural, elongated bracts (buds). The unopened bracts curve gracefully, hinting at the vibrant explosion of color waiting to emerge. I created shades of deep crimson, fiery orange, golden yellow, to blend seamlessly across the petals, with subtle gradients of lime green at the tips, giving a sense of energy gathering beneath the surface. 

This tropical treasure is ready to bloom in spectacular form and color, while its seed pod prepares for the next generation of the gorgeous Bird of Paradise.
