This casual and easy-to-wear cabled hat is knit from the bottom up, starting with smaller needles for the ribbed band. You will then switch to larger needles for the cabling and crown. The result is a beautifully soft and squishy beanie-style hat that is quick to knit and fun to wear!

Measurements

The finished item is designed to fit an adult head of 19 - 24” / 48 - 61cm circumference, 8” / 20cm height. The circumference of the finished hat is:
Small size: 18” / 46 cm
Large size: 21” / 53 cm (with the option to work an extra pattern repeat for a slouchier hat)

Materials Used

• 1.8 oz / 50g, 91 yd / 83m Aran weight yarn. The yarn in the kit is Under the Olive Tree 100% Superwash Chunky Bluefaced Leicester, in the Dusky Sea Perch colourway
• US size 8 (5mm) and 10.75 (7mm), 16” (40cm) circular needles, 1 set of 7mm double pointed needles
• Cable needle
• Stitch marker

12.5 stitches and 18 rows to 4 inches / 10cm stockinette stitch with 7mm needles
