Also known as a Google 'My Map', this is a customised map, with specific locations pinned across personalised layers (aka categories). Travel bloggers like me often use them as a method of collating all the best places to eat, stay and play in a certain country or destination.

You might have read my travel guides or blog posts for advice and recommendations for your trip, but how do you remember all these tips? Where do you store this information to refer back to while you're travelling? My custom Google Map has ALL our recommendations pinned, so you have quick and easy access to them on the go. Favourite cafe? Check. Trailhead locations? Check. Where that bus leaves from? Check.

Any device that supports Google Maps. You can access it via the Google Maps website on a computer or via the Google Maps app on your phone or tablet.

Not necessarily. Anyone can open the map link. However, for ease of access and to be able to seamlessly refer back to the map on your computer and phone, you should access the map while logged into a Google account that you use across all your devices.
