Victoria, a new foreigner at IBK in women's volleyball

 Victoria Danchak 24, a new foreign player of IBK Industrial Bank of Korea in women's volleyball, expected to face off against Kim Yeon-kyung 36, Heungkuk Life Insurance.

Victoria, who is preparing for her first season in the V-League, is training in Nagoya, Japan.

"My volleyball has strong willpower. I do it until I have it. I have strong willpower and tenacity," he said ahead of a practice game against the Denso Air Leaves, a Japanese V-League team, on Saturday. "I will do everything I can for the team. I will do my best to be of great help to the team members that I trust."

Victoria, an Apogit spiker, wore an IBK Industrial Bank uniform as the fourth overall pick in the 2024 Korean Volleyball Federation (KOVO) Women's Foreign Player Draft held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on the 9th.

I still clearly remember the joy of the day. "When my name was called out, I was shocked and couldn't believe it. I didn't know what to do because I didn't expect anything. I was so happy that I was about to cry. I tried my best not to cry. I still vividly remember those feelings."

Victoria, who has experience playing for the Ukrainian national team, has always played in her own league. Korea is the first country to play in an overseas league.

However, Korea is not unfamiliar to her. Victoria said, "I have been exposed to various Korean cultures such as K-pop, Korean dramas and movies. I am very interested in Korean culture."

"I am well aware of Kim Yeon-kyung's country. I am looking forward to a showdown. I think I will be nervous, but I want to play a good game," he said.

Victoria, which is 191 centimeters tall, has strength from speed.

In a practice match against Toyota Autobody Quince, a Japanese V-League team, held on the 27th, he also made several cheerful attacks. Kim Ho-cheol 69, head coach of IBK Industrial Bank, was satisfied, saying, "I've never seen a player who puts an overhand pass with a direct kill in the past three years while coaching IBK Industrial Bank players."

The key is teamwork with the setter. During the training camp, Victoria worked with Chen Shintong 30, Kim Ha-kyung 28, and Kim Yoon-woo 20, who joined the team one after another.

Victoria said, "Shin Tong is the setter who has teamed up the most after arriving at the team. I think one of my strengths is that Shin Tong can communicate with each other faster as I speak English. Thanks to this, we are exchanging detailed feedback." She added, "I think I need more time with Korean setters due to language issues. Although he is a foreign player, he puts his team first over individuals. "Volleyball is a team sport. The bond between the two is important, too. We cannot advance to a single goal through individual battles," Victoria stressed. "Our goal is to win the title. To achieve this goal, we need to unite as one team. And we need to work hard to become a team that improves little by little every day."
