Rhapsody Blue grew from personal experience with financial hardship and the pressures created by a culture of easy credit — and from seeing how financial stress can reach far beyond money itself, affecting families, children and a person's sense of self-worth.

Originally released on Coloured Wings (1998), the song explores a serious subject through an easy-listening, upbeat sound, with a smooth bluesy and jazzy edge. Beneath its relaxed musical feel lies a reflection on the very human consequences of financial pressure.
