The Nike Dunk made its debut in 1985 as a basketball Snkrs designed for college athletes. The original design was inspired by Nike's "Moon Shoe", which was created for the 1972 Olympic trials.

The Nike Dunk quickly gained popularity among basketball players and soon became a streetwear staple. In the early 2000s, Nike released the "SB" (Skateboarding) version of the Dunk, which featured a lower profile and a thicker sole designed for skateboarding.

Today, the Nike SB Dunk is one of the most popular skateboarding shoes on the market. It is available in a wide range of colors and styles, and has been worn by some of the biggest names in skateboarding, including Paul Rodriguez and Eric Koston.
