Change isn't always progress, and the compact mixer market seems to be going backwards!

Looking at current products from the major players in this area such as Mackie and B*hr*ng*r, they all now seem to have fixed 3 band channel EQ. Interestingly, even the range that followed LD's own LAX Series, the mysteriously titled VIBZ Series only offer a 3 band fixed channel EQ.

A semi-parametric 'mid sweep' EQ offers much greater control over your sound and a 3 band version is probably considered pretty much the minimum for all but the most basic of applications.

If you're looking for a compact mixing console with effects for live entertainment, AV work, podcast/broadcast mixing, studio front end, or education/church applications, then it's really not until you get to the Soundcraft EFX/MFX, or Signature Series that you get anything like a pro EQ and with 8 mic inputs, you're not getting too much change out of five hundred quid.

Even on channel count, the latest generation of consoles don't look that impressive. The VIBZ 12 DC has a UK RRP of £343.80 and only provides 6 mic channels.

So here's a very good condition compact mixing console with a great feature set, offering you 8 mic input channels all with 3 band semi-parametric EQ, a great sounding little digital effects section and a further 4 stereo line inputs for all your playback equipment or keyboards, etc.

I supplied a number of these products to clients when they were available new and there were no issues were reliability was concerned.
