Menstrual product education is an important topic that needs more attention. Throughout the U.S. and other parts of the world, the lack of menstrual education and access to products is a widespread issue. But we're here to raise awareness with our educational zine The Bare Necessities--a free digital zine meant to educate you on menstrual products and where to find them.
The Bare Necessities was created by Genevieve Goldstein and Vance Duche, two interns at Aspire Skill Development. As part of our capstone project, we came together to tackle the issues of menstrual education and inaccessibility. In this zine, you'll explore: the history of menstrual products; the various products available on the market; the social perceptions of menstruation; and maps of where to find menstrual resources in the areas surrounding Union College and the University of Northern Colorado.
