The Officer and the Butterfly: A McNeal Love Story

Renata Sophia McNeal, called Renny, is a free spirit, through and through. She is carefree about everything—except her work at the McNeal Corporation, of course. She’s the Vice-President of Internal Operations, supervising all McNeal employees and making sure that things run smoothly within the company. Since her professional life is so structured, her personality demands that her personal life be anything but. Her years as a shy, awkward teenager who never experienced anything made her a fearlessly free woman who wants to experience everything—a caterpillar that has become a beautiful butterfly. She’s like her two older sisters, afraid of getting close, but where Joey was scared to lose her control, and Zoe was afraid to lose her heart, Renata is only afraid of losing her freedom.

Sergeant Kaleb Winters runs a high-tech security agency and comes into the McNeal Corporation’s brand new headquarters to design and implement new security measures and equipment. He’s a no-nonsense, former military man with a brilliant mind and a strict code of honor. He is intrigued by Renata, and doesn’t understand how she can live her life barely taking anything seriously. He tries to get her to have a sterner outlook on life, but the more he wants to tie Renny down, the more he realizes that what he loves most is her free spirit. Renata wants to resist the cold, sober sergeant; he’s a threat to her carefully protected freedom, but despite his grim demeanor and sheltering manner, she finds herself attracted to him anyway. Can they figure out that love means compromise- not sacrifice?
