Secret Treasures Sweater

You are purchasing a knitting pattern, not a finished sweater!!

Little hands need secret little pockets for all those little treasures they find on their adventures!

Knitted flat in aran/worsted weight yarn this jumper knits up quick. The stripes are motivating and of course cute and the afterthought pockets with their secret colour blocking are easier than they look! Seed stitch shoulders add an interesting touch. Choose 4 different colours and have fun with contrasting stripes and brights.

**Gauge**

16 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch on 5mm (US8) needles, or size needed to get the correct gauge.

**Sizes**

The pattern covers three sizes, 2 (1-3yrs) 21 inch chest), 4 (3-5yrs) 23 inch chest, 6 (5-7yrs) 25 inch chest, 8 (7-9 yrs) 26.5 inch chest

**Tools**

4.5 mm (US 7) needles; 5 mm (US 8 needles); 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needle (any length) or dpn's for neck ribbing; tapestry needle for sewing up; waste yarn in 2 different colours for placing the afterthought pockets, 4 stitch markers

**Yarn requirements** 

Any aran/worsted weight yarn in the following amounts for the smallest size with larger sizes in brackets:

Colour A – Cala Green (1052) [140  (150, 160, 170) m/ 154 (165, 176, 187)  yds] Approx: 70 (75, 80, 85) g 

Colour  B – Lagoon (7812) [110 (120, 130, 140)  m/ 121 (132, 143, 154) yds] Approx :  55 (60, 65, 70) g 

Colour C – Golden  Kiwi (1070) [120 (130, 140, 150) m/  132 (143, 154, 165) yds] Approx: 60  (65, 70, 75) g 

Colour D - Deep Blue  Grass (9687) [90 (100, 110, 120) m/ 99  (110, 121, 132) yds] Approx: 45 (50,  55, 60) g
