Original English Watercolour Painting: High Mill, Farnham, Surrey
High Mill
This pretty English scene of High Mill in Farnham, Surrey is a line and wash adaption of the original painted by the influential artist Rowland Hilder (1905-1993). Hilder’s works were often characterised by levels of high contrast, deep (black) shadows, and dramatic skies. He frequently depicted late autumn and winter scenes, capturing a sense of quiet, chill, and stillness—sometimes with long shadows or low sunlight.
Painted on Winsor & Newton 25% cotton, 140lb cold-pressed fine-grain paper. Size A4

FAQs
Why are the artworks unframed?
Two words: ‘cost’ and ‘taste’. My original artworks are offered at a low cost, but adding a mount, glass, and frame could potentially double or triple the price. Postage would further increase costs. If you’re looking for a low-cost framing option, shop at places like IKEA or charity shops. Selecting your own frame (with or without a mount) is all a matter of taste and best left to you.
How is the artwork posted?
I use Royal Mail hardbacked ‘Do Not Bend’ envelopes. The artwork is tissue-covered, and a further card is inserted to help stiffen the package. A signed certificate of authenticity is also included.
Do You Ship Overseas?
Yes. Free International Postage is included.
