Fat snowflakes fall slowly towards the ground. The air is fresh with the scent of the first winter snow and the peaceful pines surround you. As you walk silently through the forest the trees catch the flakes as they fall from the clouds and you are transported back to memories of your childhood.

The design of this hat was inspired by the forests of the Sierra Nevada Mountains where I camped, hiked and played as a child. These are the forests where my children and I still enjoy these activities. The forests where every Christmas, we trek through the woods in search of the perfect tree. These are the forests of memories.

The hat is worked in the round from the brim up. You have the choice to add a spot for a special button on the brim or knit it simply in k2p2 ribbing. Pattern includes options to work either from a chart or written directions.

Finished Dimensions: circumference – 18 inches / 46 cm, height – 8
inches / 20cm

Yarn: Woolfolk Tov – 173 yards/ 100 grams

Yardage: 120 yards / 275 meters

Gauge: 20 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches/10 cm in reverse
stockinette

Needles: US 6/4.0 mm & US 8/5.0 mm

Notions: Stitch markers for BOR, cable needles, and darning needle
for weaving in ends.
