When you purchase the pattern you will receive an introductory file download of the schedule, pattern details, and swatch. This pattern does not include information on the basics of double knitting, prior experience with double knitting is recommended. This project may also be done in stranded colorwork in the round.
Suggested yarn and needle sizes
You will need two skeins of Three Irish Girls Adorn or Adorn Lux in your main color and two skeins in your contrasting color for a total of four skeins, 800 yards of each color.
A range of recommended needle sizes (US 2 to US 3) has been given to help you attain gauge. If you knit tightly, start with a larger needle, and if you knit loosely go with a smaller needle. You will not need to change needle sizes during the project. Swatching is recommended as this pattern will use most of the yarn in each skein.

Kits include 4 skeins of Three Irish Girls Adorn, 2 in Blackout and your choice of either Sgt Pepper or Tide is High for the Dragon side and your choice of Dancing Queen, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, or Good Vibrations for the Phoenix side.
This is indeed one of those rare cases where I’ve found a variegated yarn that works perfectly with double knitting and lends a truly fiery look to the project. I promise you, this yarn looks absolutely amazing knit up.
