About the pattern

The Building Blocks Blanket came about as a double bed sized blanket for my brother-in-law. It has since been adapted to a stroller size pattern with instructions for how to adapt the blanket into various different sizs. A schematic is included for the colour layout of a double bed sized blanket should you wish to make that size. It is knitted in one piece using intarsia methods for colour changes.

The blanket has been joined by the Building Blocks Hat and Scarf to make the full Building Blocks Collection.

If you feel like you would like to practise the techniques used in the pattern on a smaller scale, the Building Blocks Washcloth is a perfect pattern to make as a first step to building your confidence.

On purchase of the pattern it is suggested that you use the instructions to create one block following the pattern and use that in your calculations for creating both bobbins and size of your finished blanket.
