Code for Whitelabel Discourse Forum App

Discourse forums are great, but if you are asking your audience to access your forum in their phone's browser, there are some disadvantages:

• No push notifications when they receive a new message (especially on iOS)
• Low visibility among hundreds of tabs
• Frequent requests to log in again
• Difficulty directing people to info pages or generally controlling the navigation
• Low perceived value compared to a forum that's an app
• Low "stickiness" of use

We had these issues, so we created a basic app that does nothing beyond displaying the forum and sending forum notifications as push notifications. We also created this free Discourse plugin for the integration. If you want to do the same, here are some options:

1. If you are an app developer and already have some code, great! Just use our free plugin.
2. If you don't have code, you can save a lot of development time by using our code as a basis (this product). It is provided as white label, i.e. without branding and with clear instructions for getting it to work with your forum. The code works for both iOS and Android. It is written in .NET MAUI and uses Google Firebase Messaging for push notifications.
3. If you are not familiar with .NET MAUI, or you're not a coder at all, our team is willing to do all the work for you, for an additional fee.
