During medieval times, doctors wore beaked masks to protect them and placed herbs in the nose cone to cover the smell of death. Make an impression with your Halloween costume this year with this colorful plague mask crochet pattern. Detailed instructions using cotton worsted weight yarn covers the entire face with two holes for the eyes and a beaked nose (with enough room to insert a filter if desired). Two straps are crocheted on the sides of the mask and button in the back.

Masks made according to this pattern are not medical grade masks and are not FDA approved. They are intended to be used as part of a Halloween costume or for a costume party.
