"There was a time, when just like many other women, I did not celebrate who I was. It was mainly because I didn't like myself; nor did I know who I was. Of course I proclaimed that I was a strong black woman and I didn't need anyone in my life (except myself) because I was the only one in my life I trusted. Coming from a background of abuse; violence; and lack of trust; my mind stayed stuck on defending myself from those matters.

At some point, I found it necessary to re-evaluate ME and realized I wasn't who I said I was. I wasn't the strong black woman and I did need people in my life. It was the right people with the right energy I needed to connect with as I disconnected with those of low mentality, low frequency, and no mind of going anywhere or being greater than who they had become.

As soon as I changed the course wit the people I was around and began encompassing myself with others with greater mindsets, my value as a woman skyrocketed. Not only have I increased the value of who I am, but also the value of others around me.

No longer do I look in the mirror and see someone fighting to be who she really is. I look into the mirror each day knowing who I AM. Therefore, I celebrate myself each day loving the woman I AM. It is through these poetic affirmations that I implore you to do the same."
