Apple Pop Art Lesson Art Project Directed Drawing Back to School Art Activity
In this Apple Pop Art Lesson, students draw a large apple with a stem and leaf, then transform it with bold outlines, bright color, patterned details and a painted background inspired by Pop Art style. Because the subject is simple and familiar, students can focus on color choices, line texture and expressive design details.
It is made for teachers, art teachers and homeschoolers, and works as a directed drawing, a Pop Art project or a still life-inspired lesson at any time of year. Students explore line, shape, space, texture, color, form and value in one project.

HOW TO USE IT
The tutorial guides students through sketching the apple, stem and leaf, building light reflection patches with zig zag lines, adding V-shaped line texture and black dots, tracing in black marker, coloring with red, gold or yellow, orange, purple, green and blue, thickening the black contour and painting the background in a favorite color.
The lesson plan includes discussion prompts about what Pop Art is, how it differs from other styles, how color is used in Pop Art and which artists worked in the Pop Art movement, which connects the project to art history. A class set makes a bold display.
