5. INT-APP-005 — Critical Appraisal, Methodological Quality, Risk of Bias and Evidence Credibility
Description:
This Master Prompt would focus on critically evaluating the methodological quality, credibility and relevance of heterogeneous evidence included in an integrative review. It would guide researchers in selecting appraisal approaches appropriate to qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method and other eligible evidence; applying tools such as MMAT, JBI or CASP where appropriate; documenting appraisal judgments; identifying methodological strengths and weaknesses; and determining how study quality should influence interpretation.
A major emphasis would be placed on avoiding the assumption that inclusion automatically establishes evidence quality. Researchers would distinguish methodological quality, risk of bias, relevance and strength of evidence and explain how appraisal findings influence synthesis and conclusions. The uploaded studies employ several appraisal approaches—including MMAT, JBI and CASP—reflecting the methodological diversity that integrative reviews may need to accommodate.
