The Big Sack Baby is a large 16” Waldorf-inspired crochet doll. It features a cute doll in a cozy sleep sack and pixie hat that acts as a removable hood. This low-sew pattern has unstuffed arms and sack, making it a soft snuggler to cuddle with, especially if made with plush yarn. This doll makes a sweet baby shower gift or gift for an infant or newborn, as long as the eyes are embroidered to avoid choking hazard. It also makes a lovely birthday gift or Christmas present for young children. You can make it for craft fairs and markets too!

The PDF pattern includes lots of photo references to guide you through the doll-making process.

Bulky weight 5 yarn in desired colors (I used Lion Brand Yarn Posh Twist)

5mm crochet hook

8mm crochet hook

12mm black safety eyes

Stuffing

Yarn needle

Scissors

STITCHES USED (US TERMS)

FO = fasten off

ch = chain

sl st = slip stitch

sc = single crochet

inc = increase (insert 2 sc in same st)

dec = decrease (sc 2 sts together)

hdc = double crochet

hdc-inc = insert 2 hdc in the same st

hdc-dec = hdc 2 sts together
