5 Minute Lip Balm Carrier

This project was inspired by my need to find a faster and cheaper solution for an old idea. I have always liked the little lip balm holder thingies that people have posted about for ages (so let me state for the record that this little item is not original by any means) but I didn’t much like the effort that was needed to make one. Nor some of the elaborate hardware required.

So when I saw a blog post from The Ribbon Retreat about making one of these out of ribbon, I thought, what an idea! But wait — ribbon can be expensive. Hmm… but what is the advantage of ribbon that might also be found in other materials? Well, once I gave it a thought, the ideas came fast and furious.

As long as you can find some material that does not fray — or fray very much — you can make this very easily in about five minutes. And it might only cost you pennies per unit!
