Nine experienced hikers cut their tent open from the inside and walked into a −30°C night without their boots.

Every one of them died. The investigation was closed within months and the file was classified for decades. When it reopened in 2019, the official answer explained some of it. Not all of it.

That is one chapter. There are ten.

Volume I was about knowledge someone chose to seal. Volume II is about questions nobody has been able to close — including the people paid to try.
