Sugar Stripe Slouch

The Sugar Stripe Slouch is the cute companion to the Sugar Stripe Infinity Scarf. Like the scarf, it is great for using up minis or unfinished skeins. Just choose your main color for the brim and a couple contrasting colors to get started on this lightweight hat that works up surprisingly fast. Did I mention the double layered brim (made without slip stitches) that makes it extra cozy and warm? Or that it pretty much uses one stitch and can be made to measure? 

This is an advanced beginner level pattern. The pattern is written in standard US crochet terms.
There are instructions for modification throughout so that you can customize your hat.

Hooks
3 mm and 3.5 mm

Sizing
This pattern is written in 5 sizes with 1 to 2” (2.5 to 5 cm) of negative ease.
Max head circumference per size: (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) = (16”, 18”, 20”, 22”, 24”)/ {40 cm, 45 cm, 50 cm, 56 cm, 61 cm}

Yarn and Yardage
This pattern uses fingering weight yarn.

Yardage (CC = contrasting color; MC = main color):

1: Total CC: 93 yards (85 m); MC: 114 yards (106 m)
2: Total CC: 150 yards (137 m); MC: 132 yards (122 m)
3: Total CC: 215 yards (197 m); MC: 185 yards (169 m)
4: Total CC: 230 yards (210 m); MC: 224 yards (205 m)
5: Total CC: 256 yards (234 m); MC: 250 yards (229 m)
Yardage is maximum based on tester experience; you might need more or less.
