I will spare you the original lore that lead to this moment, you can make up in your head yourself if you want to.

Know only that this youngster invaded a tomb guarded by this Goddess to steal treasures from it. A classic.

He was not alone and all other intruders have already been dealt with by the Goddess or the tombs traps.

None of them are still alive to tell the tale.

And when she hunted him down as the last survivor, he had already almost escaped the tomb again, which is indicated at the light on the other side of a very large room, but since the Goddess can fly and see in the dark, she easily caught him to erase his hope to escape her divine punishment.
