Rachel was involved in a serious head-on collision. Since then, she’s undergone multiple medical castings to help heal her extensive injuries. We join her on the couch, sim-casted in one of the original cast types she wore after the accident, as she recounts the experience in vivid detail. She talks about the crash, her injuries, and the recovery process — including the metal rods and screws in her leg and foot, the pain, the elevation routine, medications, and physical therapy. Later, we follow her out to eat, where she discusses her transition to an aircast and the upcoming series of post-op medical casts still to come. Back home, seated in her wheelchair and wearing a CAM boot, Rachel reflects on her upcoming surgeries and shows the many scars left behind from the procedures, pins, and hardware.
