You can easily aspire to this beauty, with just knit and purl stitches and a few simple cables, this pattern gives maximum impact for minimum complexity.

Pattern is fully written out and also has charts for the main rise and crown patterns on the hat and the back of the hand for the gloves.
Sizes (Hat)
Choose a size approx. 5-8 cm (2-3 in) less than your actual head size for a snug fit
Hat Finished circumference
4 years- adult small: 43cm/17 in
Adult M: 49cm/19 ½ in
Adult L: 55cm/ 21 ¾ in
Shown in adult small on a head circ of 21in/53cm and a 9 year old with a 53 cm head.
Sizes (gloves)
Choose a size based on your actual hand circ, the finished gloves have about 2cm/1in of negative ease. Gloves should always be custom fitted where possible so I expect custom hand and finger lengths: full customisation instructions are provided. If you are gift or charity knitting full standard sizes are provided.
XS, to fit hand circumference 16.5cm/6.5 in
S, to fit 18cm/7 in
M, to fit 19 cm/7 ½ in
L, to fit 20.5 cm/8 in
Choose your size based on your hand circumference. Finished gloves have approx. 2cm/ ¾ in negative ease.

Needles:
4 mm (US 6) circular needle or correct needle size to achieve gauge, a needle one mm/2 US sizes smaller for the glove cuff/hat band and fingers, and a needle between these sizes for tapering fingers. I used smaller needles than this as I am a looser that average knitter).
You can use DPNS if you prefer. Pattern is needle neutral, but you may substitute your preferred method for small circumference knitting when decreasing the crown.
Gauge:
26 stitches and 29 rounds over 10cm/4 in over main cable rise pattern. 25 sts over stockinette.
