Harry Potter fan or not, when you fi rst saw 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank you probably did a double take. It’s one of the wildest concepts that the LEGO Group has tried in some time – having a building of that size on top of what is essentially a single column is a bold move.

A LEGO set that brave and boundary pushing had to take the cover this month and in our exclusive

interview the designers who created it explain how they pulled it off. You can also read the Blocks review

of the model – and one subscriber will even win their own Gringotts Bank.

If you are still saving up your Sickles for the set, then you can build a mini version with the exclusive instructions presented this month. In fact, Gringotts Bank is one of three ‘Quick Builds’ – these are small models that you can build using your brick collection, or if you need to buy the bricks, they won’t bust your budget. In case you do want to order the elements, we have provided a parts list for each model.

Should you want something more substantial, though, there’s a bigger project to tackle. The upscaled minifigure build is excellent, but not everyone wants to wear a peak cap – so Blocks demonstrates how to give the character hair instead. There are two different options, so you can choose your favourite classic wig for your big fig.

The story of LEGO trains continues too, this month exploring the introduction of the 4.5V and 12V systems – train buffs can reacquaint themselves with classic sets, whereas if you're new to trains, you can finally learn what differentiated these systems.

Either way, welcome aboard!
