In this video, we will explore a mesolithic period genome from tutkaul. The site of Tutkaul is located in southern Tajikistan, 70 km southeastwards of Dushanbe in the village Dashti-Mazar.

This sample is dated to 82 centuries before present and carries the Q lineage Q1b. This is actually the lineage most commonly found in Amerindians, but it is also found in Eurasians. This lineage is likely associated with the ancient north Eurasians who at one point inhabited central asia.

According to G25, the tutkaul sample most closely resembles peoples of south and central asia such as Rors and Jats from India, Kalash from Pakistan, or Pamiris from Tajikistan.
