The Friends of Mucheng
The Friends of Mucheng by Kay Uwe Rott.
**THE FRIENDS OF MUCHENG**
Thirty years ago,
there was only a thought.
A melody somewhere in the distance,
a place that did not yet exist,
and a wish
to make music that could bring different worlds together.
I tried.
Again and again.
Some ideas became songs.
Some became fragments.
Some were abandoned.
And many were simply deleted.
The years passed.
The thought remained.
Perhaps some ideas
are not meant to disappear.
Perhaps they are only waiting
for the right time.
For thirty years,
I carried this little piece of music
somewhere inside me.
And then the world changed.
New instruments.
New possibilities.
New ways of shaping sound,
of combining orchestra, rhythm, voices and imagination.
What once seemed impossible
became possible.
Not because the dream had changed.
Because the tools had finally caught up with it.
And so, thirty years later,
the first thought became a song.
**The Friends of Mucheng.**
For everyone who believes
that music does not need borders.
For everyone who knows
that a friend can be near,
far away,
or perhaps not even known yet.
Sometimes a city begins
with a thought.
Sometimes a friendship begins
with a sound.
And sometimes
a song simply needs thirty years
to find its way home.
