Folk Dance Quilt Pattern

FOLK DANCE QUILT Finished size 60” x 84”

Inspired by folk art symbolism and using a whole host of different techniques we

created this unusual and striking quilt for our 2020 Block of the Month Club.

The combination of geometric and pictorial blocks, super-sized for maximum

impact, paired with the smaller filler sections makes for a stunning modern sampler

quilt. Because of their size each of the blocks can be used independently in a

number of other projects such as pillows and mini quilts. It’s also very easy to

duplicate your favourite blocks to make a large version of the quilt should you wish.

Pattern includes 12 stunning full sized blocks plus another 6 mini motifs for the strips!

As well as full instructions and templates this 76 page pattern includes fabric requirements, including shade numbers, for our 3 different colour palettes plus a colouring-in sheet for you to create your own.

Featured Techniques include:

● Foundation Paper Piecing

● Appliqué, with both needle-turn and raw edge options

● English Paper Piecing

● HST and other quick piecing techniques

● Curve piecing

Requirements:

● Quilt Top: 13 yds ( 12 metres)

● Backing fabric: 5 ¼ yds (4 ¾ metres)

● Wadding (batting): 68” x 92” (170cm x 240cm)

● Binding: 20” x WOF (60cm x WOF)

Until recently this pattern has only been available to those club members who signed

up for the year long block of the month programme. We are so happy to finally

share the Folk Dance quilt with everyone and hope you enjoy making it!
