The Providence of God Made Simple
Providence is the quiet, steady work of God behind the scenes of your life: His hand guiding your steps when you cannot see the road, guarding you from dangers you never knew were there, and providing for needs you had not yet felt. Nothing in your life is an accident. The pit was planned. The prison had a purpose. The delay had a destination.
The Providence of God Made Simple is a Bible-first walk through the great providence stories of Scripture: Joseph, from the pit to the palace (Genesis 37-50); Israel's long way around to the Red Sea (Exodus 13-14); manna in the wilderness (Exodus 16); Esther, positioned "for such a time as this" (Esther 4); the Shepherd who never sleeps (Psalms 23 and 121); Jesus' teaching on sparrows and lilies (Matthew 6); the Holy Spirit arranging the steps in Acts 16; and the dark threads of suffering woven into glory (2 Corinthians 4).
Explicitly Trinitarian: God the Father, whose counsel stands forever and who works all things after the counsel of His own will; Jesus Christ — Son of God and Son of Man, Lord and Savior — in whom all the promises of God are yes and amen, and who upholds all things by the word of His power; and the Holy Spirit, who alone opens blind eyes to see the hand of God and intercedes for us when we have no words. Every prayer is to the Father, through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit.
Read one chapter a day. Come honest. Read slowly. Watch for the fingerprints.
