Yarn: Approximately 100 g of fingering weight sock yarn; actual yarn usage depends on foot size
Shown in Brown Sheep Company Wildfoote Luxury Sock (75% washable wool, 25% nylon; 215 yds./197 m per 1.75 oz./50 g skein) in Goldenrod/color SY45, two skeins

Needles: US 1 (2.25 mm), or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge: 32 stitches and 40 rounds = 4 in./10 cm in stockinette stitch in the round

Sizes: Adult Small (Medium, Large), to fit foot circumference of 7 (8, 9) in./18 (20.5, 23) cm

Worked cuff down and using a heel flap and gusset and wide toe, these socks feature a traveling twisted stitch pattern down the front of the leg and on the instep. The stitch pattern is both written and charted.

Actual yarn usage will depend on the size you are making and the length of the foot, which is adjustable. If you have very wide and/or very long feet, consider purchasing an extra skein of yarn as insurance if you’re using the same yarn used in the sample.
