Hadrian's Wall Path Accommodation Directory
Plan Where You'll Stay Every Night of Your Hadrian's Wall Walk 🛏️
A lot of the Hadrian's Wall Path runs through small villages and open countryside, so accommodation can be limited some nights, and not every place offers what you actually need, like a packed lunch for the next day's walk.
We know how daunting looking for accommodation for a long-distance walk can feel. Planning where to stay every night on a route like this can turn into a job on its own, especially when you're worried about getting it wrong before you've even set off.
That's why we built the Hadrian's Wall Path Accommodation Directory. We've already done the searching, comparing, and calling, checking properties online and phoning them directly to fill in details that weren't listed anywhere, so you can start planning your own walk with real information already in front of you, not hours of research still ahead of you.
What You'll Get
- Full route coverage: Nearly 100 accommodation options from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway, from pubs and B&Bs to hostels, campsites, and glamping, ordered east to west so you can plan night by night.
- The details that matter: Price, distance from the trail, and amenities like solo traveler options, dog-friendly policies, private bathrooms, food service (breakfast, packed lunches, evening meals), and whether each place works with a luggage transfer service like Hadrian's Haul (booked separately).
- Notes worth knowing: Extra tips or walker-specific information on many listings, the kind of thing you'd only find by asking.
- Filter it your way: A live Google Sheet you can filter by location, price, or amenities to narrow things down fast.
- Kept current: It's the same live directory for every buyer, so when we add or update listings, you'll see those changes too. No need to buy a new edition.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who created this directory?
Hi, I'm Anisa. I built this directory myself, researching accommodation options online and calling properties directly to fill in details that weren't listed anywhere else.
Who is this directory for?
It's a good fit if you're planning to walk Hadrian's Wall, haven't booked your accommodation yet, and want to save hours of research without paying a company to plan it for you.
It's especially handy if you also:
- want to compare different types of places to stay
- like to stay at places that match your style and preferences
- are planning on a budget
- are traveling solo
- are traveling with a dog
- need packed lunches or evening meals along the way
- are using a luggage transfer service like Hadrian's Haul
If you've already booked everywhere you're staying, or a company is handling that for you, you probably don't need this one.
Why not just look this up myself?
You can, and if you enjoy that kind of research, go for it. Between limited options in some villages, cross-checking amenities like packed lunches or private bathrooms, and confirming details that often aren't listed online, it can easily eat up hours you'd rather spend on the rest of your trip planning. This directory does that legwork for you.
Do I need to book accommodation in advance, or can I play it by ear?
We'd recommend booking in advance. Options are limited in the rural sections of the Path, so waiting until you're on the trail can leave you scrambling for somewhere to stay. We can't guarantee availability for your exact dates, since we don't control the individual properties, but booking early gives you the best chance of getting what you want.
How do I access the directory?
You'll get a PDF with a link to a live Google Sheet.
Do I need a Google account to access this?
No. The directory is shared so anyone with the link can view and filter it, no sign-in required.
How do I filter the directory?
You can filter it yourself without affecting the master directory, since you only have view access, any filter you create is just for you. To do it: highlight the data, open the Data menu, and create a filter view, then narrow by location, price, or amenities.
How do I book a place once I've found one?
You'll book directly with each accommodation using the booking link in the directory. This is a research and comparison tool, we don't handle bookings for you.
Do you earn a commission from any of the links in the directory?
Yes, some of the links are affiliate links, so we may earn a small commission if you book through them. It doesn't affect which accommodations are listed or how they're described.
Can I buy this as a gift?
Yes. At checkout, select the "Give as a gift" option and enter the recipient's details instead of your own.
Is this a physical product?
No, this is a digital product. You'll receive a PDF with a link to view the directory as a Google Sheet online.
Is this product up to date?
We update the directory as we get new information, rather than on a fixed schedule. You'll find the most recent update date at the top of the sheet itself. If you spot something that's changed, or know of a place we should add, email us at admin@twotravelingtexans.com or post in the Hadrian's Wall First Time Walkers' Community on Facebook.
Do you offer refunds?
Because this is a digital product, all sales are final, so we encourage you to review the product details carefully before purchasing. If you have trouble downloading or accessing your file, contact us at admin@twotravelingtexans.com and we'll help or provide a replacement.
