William Boyd’s career began with a bang when his first book, A Good Man in Africa, won the Whitbread Book and Somerset Maugham Award in 1981, and for almost 40 years since, he’s become a household bookshelf name, even writing a James Bond novel Solo in 2012. An Ice-Cream War, took home the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize, while Any Human Heart won the Prix Jean Monnet de Littérature Européenne, and Restless won Novel of the Year at the 2006 Costa Book Awards. Other fan favorites include Waiting for Sunrise, Any Human Heart, Ordinary Thunderstorms, and Trio.
