Give students a hands-on way to practice transformation sequences with this Transformation Sequences Cut and Paste Activity. Students will work with translations, reflections, and rotations as they determine the correct order of transformations.

For each problem, students are given a pre-image and two transformed images. Students cut out the transformation images, decide which transformation happened first and which happened second, and glue the images in the correct sequence.

Below each image, students can write the transformation that was completed, such as a translation, rotation, or reflection. Problems include a variety of transformations using figures with three or four coordinate points.

A blank coordinate tracking sheet is also included so students can record the coordinates of the pre-image, the first transformation, and the second transformation. This gives students another way to organize their work and check their thinking.

This print-ready activity can be used in several ways. Use it as an individual activity, partner practice, math centers, stations, small group review, or a movement-based activity by placing problems around the room.
