The Kashf al-Mahjub

Written in the eleventh century, the Kashf al-Mahjub is the oldest Persian treatise on Sufism and the closest thing the tradition has to a first-hand survey of its own founding generation. Al-Hujwiri sets out the doctrines, disputes and sayings of the early masters, with extensive material on Al-Junayd of Baghdad, whose own writings have never been translated into English in the public domain.
