Do you have trouble motivating your child to do their chores? Assigning chores to your children teaches them discipline, how to manage a home, how to manage their time effectively, goal setting, and builds confidence that they can accomplish a task on their own. If you wish to connect your chore chart to some sort of payment system, either in real money or in tickets/points/imaginary money redeemable for fun things, that could help add to the motivation. Be sure to put the chore chart up somewhere where your kid can easily get to it to see what tasks are assigned and have them to check it off with you once the task has been completed. I’d suggest using a clip board hung on the wall, a cork bulletin board, a dry erase board (with a magnet), or a memo board to hang up their chore charts.
