Behind the Mind Guard (a short story)
People remember some things on their own, but there are a whole host of things they remember, or remember better, because of external triggers and nudges.
One idea about treating memory disorders is using a broad class of things to help people remember, jogging their memories so they can fill in the blanks. Some people suggest using implants and algorithms, to give people this sort of help within their own minds.
This short story explores what that might look like, and what some of the positives and negatives might be.
You'll notice that there is no minimum price set for this story.
I'm trying an approach titled "Pay What You Want," because I trust my work. I know my stories are good. I also trust people to recognize that quality and pay what they think the story is worth. Also, I know how hard it is to judge new writers, so I want to make it easy for people to try my work.
