The Grey Lady Beanie

Beautiful cables. Beautiful beanie. Inspired by the wispy and ghostly look of The Grey Lady (Helena Ravenclaw). I have loved the look of these ribbon-like cables for a long time. In face, I had considered designing with them when I was working on the Fiendfyre Hat in 2020. I’m glad I set it aside though because the finish of this hat is something that made me so happy - it’s so pretty that you don’t need a pom!

Pattern includes charts if that is your preferred way for knitting cabled patterns. Two crown decrease options for the perfect fit!

Skill level: ADVANCED BEGINNER to INTERMEDIATE

Finished sizes: approximately 8.5” x 9” flat

Materials:

DK: ~220-230 yards

(If using fingering + mohair, you’ll need the same amount for each yarn, so 220-230 yards of each)

US 3/ 3.25mm 16” circular needles

US 6/ 4mm 16” circular needles and/or dpns
