This is my Blocked Buyer List. My suggestion is that you allow messages. There is an option on the blocked buyer page on eBay to not allow blocked people to contact you. You might want to set this to allow blocked people to continue messaging you. The reason I suggest this is because there might be a few people I have blocked, that you would not block and would still trade with them. Some of these people are out and out abusive and if you allow blocked people to message you then you will find out for yourself how fast they go from friendly to nasty. That said, some of the people I have blocked have no doubt ended up this way out of what was probably a misunderstanding by them in the first place so not every person I have blocked is an abusive and nasty person.
To give you an example, one person continually leaves feedback saying no more than the word “FAKE” or “FAKE GOODS”, simply because they thought something wasn’t right. The don’t contact sellers, they just leave rotten comments. Another uses his wife’s eBay account, gets drunk and leaves feedback drunk and as you can imagine it’s not always nice. Another is an out and out thief.
Some people are out and out chancers like the ones that make an offer of a £1 on a £100 item for example. You might wonder why they do this. It’s really very simple, not all of us know how to use eBay properly and so will likely make mistakes now and again. If you have mistakenly set your offer the wrong way around and it accepts an offer of £1 these people will argue black is white until you give them the item, or complain to eBay you didn’t sell it to them for £1. These people are complete and utter time wasters because it takes time to deal with offers and writing to people. As far as I am concerned I don’t want them getting through the front door.
You might think blocking people will cut down your income, that is a fool’s errand. There are over half a billion members on eBay so when you come across these nasty, bullying, vile, thieving people, don’t stress yourself, just block them. As fast as you block one person there are a hundred or a thousand to take their place.
If someone steals from you, don’t get angry, just block them. When nasty abusers swear at you, don’t get stressed just block them. When people try and take advantage of you financially, don’t get frustrated, simply block them. It’s like getting a heavy breather phone call or an abusive scammer phone call. There are various ways of dealing with them but the easiest by far, the least stressful and the least time consuming, is to simply block them. Just like hanging up the phone, it’s really easy. No stress, no drama, just block.
Take a small leaf out of my book. I decided that instead of getting wound up over it, I would allow the abusers to earn me money. Whether they are an abuser because they were rude, or used foul language or tried to steal from me. Every single person has been put here for a reason. If they were decent people they would not be on my block list. Individually they are not worth the time it takes to tie a shoe lace, but collectively they are worth hundreds of pounds to me because I sell my block list. There is nothing to stop you adding this list to your own block list and then selling it on to other sellers.
I allow people to still message because every now and again someone realises they have been a bit of a plank and apologises and when that happens I try to let bygones be bygones. That said I never unblock someone if they have left a negative comment, not until that comment is removed. A person has 90 days in which to leave a feedback comment and within that time frame that comment can be changed if both you and them agree, but a comment can only be changed once. A person might be right in leaving a negative comment however I believe they should contact you first to give you a chance to work things out, give some customer service and try to appease the customer and rectify the situation. When a customer goes straight for the jugular then I add them to the block list on the basis that if they couldn’t be bothered to contact me and give me an opportunity to rectify the situation this time, then they probably won’t give me a chance to rectify the problem another time in the future, so it’s likely I might get a negative comment again. It’s logical.
The negative comment will sit there on full view for 12 months before it disappears. I will only unblock them if A) they have agreed to allow me to fix the problem and then changed their feedback, all within 90 days; or B) once the 12 months are up and their comment has been removed, only then will I allow them to shop with me again.
All you have to do is copy this and paste it in to your block list and et voila! Your done and all with zero stress. There are two ways of buying my block list, one is physically on a document like this, but sent through the post where you have to manually type them in to your own block list. The other is by going to www.payhip.com/ian where you can not only buy it online and therefore be able to copy and past at a stroke and with ease, but you also get unlimited downloads, which means once purchased you can down load it again and again and again without paying any more money. You pay one fee of £10 and you can download it as often as you want for free thereafter, you never pay again. Every so often, usually every couple of weeks, I upload the latest freshest document/file. Once you have bought the first one for £10, you never have to pay again and you can download the latest list as often as you like, every week or every day if you want. Just bear in mind I update it every couple of weeks. The hassle, stress and aggravation of just one of these people will more than pay for the cost. The list is in alphabetical order and each user name is separated by a comma.
