Pet Grooming Business Profit Tracker
Pet Grooming Business Profit Tracker Excel with service pricing, profit per hour, groomer pay and commission, expenses by category, and a monthly Profit and Loss dashboard. Know what every groom actually earns — per service, per hour, and per groomer.
Built for pet grooming shop owners, mobile groomers, and salon managers who need to know whether the price covers the shampoo, the time, and the groomer's pay — without accounting software. If a service is slow for what it earns, this workbook flags it before the next price list goes up.
WHAT'S INCLUDED (6 sheets):
- Services — price, product cost, time in minutes, profit per service, profit per hour, and margin percent for every service. Services earning under 36 per hour are flagged Review price/time. Change a price, cost, or time and the whole workbook follows.
- Groomers — services done, average price per service, commission percent, pay, and what the shop keeps for each groomer. The blended commission percent and average price per service at the top feed straight into the P and L.
- Supplies and Expenses — monthly operating costs by category: rent, shampoo and conditioner, utilities, tools and equipment, marketing, insurance, towels and laundry, treats and bows, cleaning supplies, software and booking, and other. Annual cost, share of costs, and cost per service fill in by formula.
- Monthly P and L — services done, revenue, product cost, groomer pay, and operating expenses by month, Jan-Dec, with net profit, margin, and profit per service. Revenue, product cost, groomer pay, and expenses are all formulas from sheets 1 to 3 — enter services done each month and the rest fills in.
- Dashboard — total services and revenue, net profit and margin, best service by profit per service and per hour, best groomer by revenue and by what the shop keeps, best and worst months, and costs by category.
- Cover and How to Use — start here. Yellow cells are the only ones you edit.

HOW IT WORKS:
1. Download the Excel file instantly after purchase.
2. On sheet 1, enter each service's price, product cost (shampoo and product used per service), and time in minutes. Profit per service, profit per hour, and margin fill in by formula.
3. On sheet 2, enter each groomer's services done, average price per service, and commission percent. Revenue, pay, and what the shop keeps fill in by formula.
4. On sheet 3, enter each expense category's monthly cost. Annual cost, share of costs, and cost per service fill in by formula.
5. On sheet 4, enter services done each month. Revenue, product cost, groomer pay, expenses, net profit, and margin fill in by formula.
6. Check profit per hour on the Dashboard weekly. A service under 36 per hour is slow for what it earns — raise the price, shorten the time, or drop it.
HOW THE NUMBERS WORK:
Profit per service is price minus product cost. Profit per hour is profit per service divided by time in hours. Margin percent is profit per service divided by price. Monthly revenue is services done times the average price per service from the groomers sheet; monthly product cost is services done times the average product cost per service from the services sheet; monthly groomer pay is revenue times the blended commission percent. Operating expenses are the monthly total from the expenses sheet, the same every month unless you change it. Product used per service lives on sheet 1 and monthly bills live on sheet 3 — keep the two separate so costs are not counted twice.
WHO IT'S FOR:
Pet grooming shop owners, mobile groomers, and salon managers who want service pricing, groomer pay, expenses, and a monthly Profit and Loss in one workbook — without accounting software.
PLEASE NOTE:
- This is a digital download. No physical item will be shipped.
- Works in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (upload to Google Drive to open in Sheets).
- Example data for 2026 is included (12 services, 4 groomers, 5,400 services, 11 expense categories). Replace it with your own numbers.
- The example is simplified: the P and L uses one average product cost per service and one blended commission percent for the whole shop, so split them out by service or groomer if you want finer detail.
