The Missing,........ by Lindsey Shaffer is a personal read that follows a mother’s account of her daughter’s disappearance and the legal battles that followed, along with her belief that the case involves adoption fraud and larger systemic issues. The book includes a mix of storytelling and documentation, which gives readers insight into both the emotional side of the situation and the evidence the author has gathered over time. It’s clear that a lot of effort went into compiling the information, and the topic itself is one that will interest readers drawn to true crime and real-life cases. However, the book would benefit greatly from thorough editing. With more polish, it could reach a wider audience and communicate its message more effectively, but it still offers a perspective that many readers will find hard to forget.

This book doesn’t tiptoe around anything—it goes straight into a real-life story filled with accusations, documents, and a relentless search for answers. It feels like reading someone’s case file and personal journal at the same time, with page after page pushing the same question: what really happened to this child? There’s a raw energy here that keeps you flipping pages, even when the structure gets messy or repetitive. But let’s be honest—the lack of editing is a major hurdle. Misspellings and grammar issues show up constantly, and they can pull you out of the story just when things start to build momentum. Clean that up, and this could hit a whole different level. Still, if you’re drawn to real-life mysteries and stories that don’t come wrapped in neat conclusions, this one will stick with you.

Hi,.... I am actually the author/writer of this book,... I just wanted to thank everyone in advance for the reviews they give and or continue to give and apologize for miss-spelling in the book,... with picture-documents from court and DHS there's always going to be some miss-spelling's in the pictures and unfortunately I cant do anything to change that and then,... Iv also believe I have had state government people hacking my laptop/computers trying to mess up the wording and spelling that's in my books,.... that I write on Colorado-State Government-Corruption and
that's why there is miss-spelling,.... as well.
I do hope that at the end of the day everyone will enjoy my books I write and share,... thank you all for your support..

This book reads like a mother’s urgent attempt to document everything she believes happened after her daughter disappeared. It’s intense and sometimes overwhelming, but you can feel the determination behind every page, especially as it moves through the timeline of events and the author’s ongoing fight for answers. There are moments that really pull you in, particularly when the focus shifts to the child at the center of it all and what might have happened. That said, the reading experience is often disrupted by frequent spelling issues. This could be a much clearer and more powerful book, but even as it stands, it’s a difficult story to ignore and one that will leave readers with a lot of questions.

The Missing… presents itself as both a personal account and a case file, documenting one woman’s claim that her daughter was wrongfully taken through a flawed and possibly corrupt system. The book combines a first person account with reproduced documents, reports, and correspondence, creating a layered—if sometimes chaotic—portrait of events spanning several years. However, the book’s impact is undercut by a lack of professional editing, with frequent misspellings and grammatical inconsistencies that interfere with clarity and readability. A more polished presentation would significantly strengthen its credibility and reach. Even so, the subject matter itself is compelling enough to spark conversation, raising difficult questions about oversight, accountability, and the systems designed to protect children.

What this mother, Lindsey Shaffer, went through is horrifying to think about. I can not imagine losing my child in this manner. I recommend this book to all law enforcement officers. There is enough information in this book to conduct an investigation. I did a vague search on Candice White, the CPS caseworker. Every Facebook photo she appears to be drinking alcohol. I'm concerned about why a possible alcoholic is responsible for the placement and safety of minor children. This true crime book is absolutely mind blowing.

This is a must read. The system has failed Lindsey, her daughter, and her entire family. Unfortunately, this happens many times to innocent people and they don't have the resources to get help. Please read this book and realize what is going on to help stop it.
Guitarpeace/ Amazon This book is so shocking and everyone should know that what happened to this mom can happen to anyone. This is so powerful and I could not put it down. It is so SAD and deplorable what CPS did to this mom and her daughter. I have told so many people to read this book, and I hope they do so they can understand what is happening in America and globally.
