RECOMMENDED FABRICS
This pattern shows you how to sew with laminated cotton, which is a flexible, coated cotton, also known as slicker. It is easy to sew, wipe clean, washable and resilient, making it ideal for this child’s satchel. It will keep the contents dry in wet weather and is durable for everyday use. You can also use other fabrics such as a medium weight quilting cotton, canvas, waterproof Oxford, vinyl or oilcloth. Find a small selection of high quality laminated cotton prints in my Shop.
Some of my pattern testers used iron-on vinyl on quilting weight fabrics with great results, which you can view on my blog.
