I arranged the traditional folk song of Japan "Sakura" (Cherry Blossoms) for two cellos when a student of mine asked me to accompany him at an open mic at the Chicago Japanese Buddhist Temple.  The pizzicato octaves at the beginning evoke the sound of the koto.  Perfect for any Spring festival, or Japanese cultural celebration.  The Cello 1 part is entirely in first position, well suited for a first or second year player.  Pdf includes a score with Japanese lyrics in both 'romaji' and hiragana, English translation, and separate Cello 1 and accompaniment parts.
