###THIS IS AN INSTANT DOWNLOAD SEWING PATTERN PDF AND NOT A FINISHED PRODUCT. ###

+++This is a measure and cut pattern which means that there are NO TEMPLATES to print off and match up- Yay! You need a rotary cutter, ruler and mat and you can cut the pattern pieces straight from the fabric. This is easier than it sounds because the pieces are all simple squares and rectangles.

When you buy this pattern, you have my permission to make this bag to sell- no mass production allowed of course but a few to sell at craft fairs or online, that sort of thing is fine. All I ask is that you credit me as the designer. I wish you all the success in the world with sales!

All measurements are in INCHES:

Shall we help save the world? This bag is part of the answer! It is great to see that most stores expect us to have our own shopping bags now and charge for us to use plastic ones. The trouble is, I forget mine and clock up some Apple miles going back to fetch them.
What is needed is a tote that zips up to purse size and then fits into your hand bag. Then it can be with you all the time- perfect for unexpected trips into the shop. This one even has a little zipper pocket for shopping trolley tokens or coins. And no re-usable plastic needed – do this one small thing to help the planet.

Pattern Rating: intermediate with some knowledge assumed. Some parts of the pattern are a bit fiddly and require patience.

Finished Size: closed size: 4” wide x 6” long
Fully open size: 14” wide x 15 ½” deep

Suggested Fabrics: light weight cotton fabric. The thinner the better this time because we need something that will fold up to nearly nothing. If you have been sewing for a while and have some ninja skills, you could also experiment with rip-stop nylon and similar fabrics..

Gather these supplies:
Fabric:
½ yd. thin cotton fabric for the exterior.
½ yd. coordinating thin cotton fabric for the lining.

Interfacing:
F8th Decovil I Light (Vlieseline). This interfacing is a thin fusible with a leather- like feel which gives light structure. You can see it in image 3 on page 5 of the pattern.
F8th H630 fusible wadding (Vlieseline),alternatively Bosal 326LF Light Fusible Batting.

Everything Else:
20” #5 plastic main zipper. Cut 20” from a continuous zipper.
3” #3 plastic zipper for the coin pocket. Cut 4” from a continuous zipper.
Something to decorate the zipper pulls. Good choices are leather or vegan leather, thick baker’s twine or cord.
Coordinating threads for all fabrics and trims
Your usual sewing needs including scissors, markers, and extra feet for your sewing machine (zipper foot for example). You know, the usual stuff!
