With over 15 years of coaching expertise, Joe Ward is the Head Coach and Founder of the Manly Beach Running Club, transforming more than 500 runners into marathon and ultra marathon powerhouses since 2012.


His coaching prowess extends internationally, preparing athletes for marathons and ultra’s including Berlin, London, Tokyo, New York, Boston, Chicago, and Sydney, to name just a few notable locations.


Not just a running coach, Joe is an accomplished ultra runner with first place finishes including GNW 100 miles (2018), Australia 24 hr Invitational (2020), Sri Chinmoy 12-hour (2021 and 2022), and Coast to Kosci (2021 inclement weather CR).


He has also competed for Australia in both the Asia and Oceania Championships in Bangalore (2022) and the 24 Hour World Championships in Taipei (2023).



Fuelled by bananas and owning more pairs of running shoes than he would like to admit, Joe is obsessed with all things running and loves helping others to run their best life!
