When Life Shatters
I chose to self-publish this book so I could speak to you directly, without filters and with full creative freedom. These pages carry fragments of my story, which unfold in loops and turns rather than in sequence. I weave in and out of moments surrounding a life-altering car accident to share with you what it looks like to fall
apart.
I am your companion who has walked through fire. As I narrate my pain, please walk alongside me to find your own healing. Words like ‘accident,’ ‘fire,’ and ‘pain’ may sound heavy, but I promise you this is a light and joyful pocketbook.
The title Jikaze is Swahili for “brace yourself” or “gather your strength.” It is a call to resilience. Each chapter has a Kujikaza practice that will lift your spirits.
I hope you read am small small, make the meaning carry you past any tiny editorial wahala. Na me be editor too, so just manage am like dat, abeg.
Yours in love and courage,
Amollo Ambole.
